A delegation with 5 persons from Henan Provincial Bureau for Survey and Mapping, led by Director Mrs. Jia Zhiwei, visited Swedesurvey and Lantmäteriet in Gävle during November 2011.
Swedesurvey presented the current situation within Geodesy, aerial photo handling, NSDI development and the information sharing model in Sweden including benefits for the Society. The program for the Study visit also included visits to Swedish companies and other countries: Swizerland and Kort- og Matrikelstyrelsen in Denmark.

Director Mrs. Jia Zhiweisummarized the whole trip as a fruitful visit and an effective start for a comprehensive and strengthened cooperation between Henan and Swedesurvey within survey and mapping field. Two more training groups from Henan to Sweden are already discussed and planned during 2012.

Jan Zakariasson, managing director for Swedesurvey, commented the visit as ‘This is a historical step for Swedesurvey to expand the existing cooperation from Hebei province, to other parts of China. Through our discussions both parties can foresee several areas where we can cooperate in the coming years, such as training activities and local project cooperation in Henan province.’
