Working in Belgrade
By Kent Nilsson on 18/03/2011
I am currently in Serbia working in the Mortgage project with RGA. We are having a very rewarding week and the team of lawyers, developers, testers and managers are filled with positive energy and working hard.
The weather is nice with temperatures around 15-20 degrees and some sunshine. In the office we have created a good start and decided to use some of my favourite tools for getting the project done by ensuring full committment and strong local ownership. These include e.g. iterative work, early creation of a PoC (Proof of Concept), daily morning meetings and Kanban inspired boards. The team, including management, are really positive to using these tools and are very committed to the project - focusing on result and trying to minimize waste on the way towards reaching the project objectives!
After work today I had a the opportunity to swing some golf clubs in Ada and giving some hints to the local Project Manager Pedja. He stroke some nice 7 irons and also hit a tree on the driving rach with an impressive pitch.
Tomorrow we will wrap up the week and I will go home. I look forward to supporting the team and visiting the again in May and feel confident we will create a suitable Mortgage system and have an enjoyable journey on the way to fulfilling the vision!
