Ghana
In 2004 Swedesurvey, on behalf of the Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development, undertook a feasibility study and put forward a project proposal for the development and design of an urban management land information system. The following year we began providing technical assistance in the four-year project. It had four main components: project management, data capture, design and development and pilot testing in Accra, Ayawaso Submetro. In addition, Swedesurvey held a Capacity Building Course to Strengthen the Ministry of Lands and Forestry for Effective and Efficient Implementation of the Ghana Land Administration Project. Swedesurvey is currently undertaking a training programme, financed by MCC, for Land Commission personnel.
