The Lao-Swedish Forestry Programme was a rural development programme in forested areas and included support in the development of villages and capacity building for administration at district, provincial and central levels. Swedesurvey assisted by providing a team of experts in land use planning, cadastral systems, Land Information Systems and Geographical Information Systems. In addition Swedesurvey conducted a minor study on the feasibility of developing a system for a national land use master plan in Laos.
