Within a nationwide integrated geodesy project in Namibia Swedesurvey conducted GPS campaigns for the zero-order network and provided training for staff at the Directorate of Survey and Mapping (DSM). Swedesurvey has also assisted DSM to improve their business capabilities by providing consultancies in map production, IT infrastructure and the development and implementation of a computerised cadastral system. In addition, Swedesurvey has undertaken a number of aerial photography missions in Namibia and updated the 1:50 000 topographic database at DSM. Furthermore, Swedesurvey provided a long-term GIS/Cartography adviser to assist the National Planning Commission in the 2001 Population and Housing Census.
