In close cooperation with the Department of Surveying and Mapping and four local land administration authorities in Tanzania, Swedesurvey made an assessment of land registration. The study, which included customary land, was undertaken on behalf of the Ministry of Lands and Human Settlements Development. In 2010, Swedesurvey completed another assignment on behalf of the Ministry - a World Bank financed needs assessment for the Registry of Titles. In addition, Swedesurvey provided team leaders for the Sustainable Management of Land and Environment project in Zanzibar, financed by the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Finland, and for the Design and Implementation of a Strategic Plan for the Implementation of the Land Act and Village Land Act. Since 1995 alone no less than 32 Tanzanians have participated in Swedesurvey’s international courses.
