Russian Deputy Ministers and State Duma members visiting
Stockholm |
Within the framework of Swedesurvey's comprehensive Cadastre
and registration project in Russia, a high-level delegation with representatives
from the State Duma and the core actors of the Land Administration sector
are visiting Stockholm, 10-15 December. The delegation visits responsible
Ministries (the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Justice and the
Ministry of Environment), the Land developer Skanska, The Swedish National
Audit Office, The National Property Board, a Swedish bank as well as
Lantmäteriet, i.e. the National Land Survey of Sweden.
The objectives are to demonstrate the roles, responsibilities and interaction
among the wide spectra of actors involved in the land administration and also
to highlight necessary mechanisms that has to be in place to obtain an efficient
land market and effective land use management, which together supports sustainable
economic and social development. In addition, the importance of facilitating
top-delegates to meet with each other and discuss and compare the land issues
should not be underestimated.
The delegation will conclude their visit by celebrating St Lucia, the traditional
Swedish Festival of Light. |

Swedesurvey in Belize |

agreement. |
In December 2002 an agreement was signed between the Government of
Belize acting through the Ministry of Natural Resources, the Environment
and Industry (MNREI) and Swedesurvey AB of Gävle in partnership with
Finnmap of Helsinki and GFA Terra Systems of Hamburg. The agreement
is for the provision of consultancy services for Cadastral Surveying
and Land Tenure Clarification in three districts in Belize. The project
is financed through a loan to the Government of Belize from the Inter-American
Development Bank (IDB). This contract is a break-through for Swedesurvey
in Central America. |
