The Director of Department of Survey and Mapping Mr Bryson Morebodi and his Management Team are visiting Swedesurvey and Lantmäteriet, the National Land Survey of Sweden from 28 th March to 7 th April, 2004.
The one week visit, to be attended by consultants involved in the integrated GIS (IGIS) project, and other key personnel at Swedesurvey, will be used for presentation of various practical solutions within Geomatics, Geographic and Land Information and Management Systems sectors and review the entire project.
This is a rare opportunity that, for the first time, will bring together the role players in the development of the Survey and Mapping production and management systems at DSM in the environment of a similar but more advanced Institution. The programme will be conducted as a series of workshops, seminars and hands-on demonstrations. |

Seminar in Jinja, Uganda |

Tommy Österberg, Technical Director at Swedesurvey participated in the seminar. |
Swedesurvey has been engaged by the Ministry of Water, Lands and Environment in Uganda to prepare a detailed plan for the development and implementation of a modern land information system in Uganda. A draft plan was discussed at a seminar in Jinja March 2-3, 2004 with participants from most stakeholders in Uganda. The seminar agreed on the general business concept and an implementation strategy for the modern land information system in Uganda. |

Regional follow-up seminar in Vietnam |

A Regional Follow-up Seminar in Hanoi,Vietnam, within the field of Land Administration and Geographical Information took place in November 17-21, 2003. The seminar targeted former Asian participants of Swedesurvey´s courses and seminars from 1998-2002. The Seminar was organised in co-operation with Vietnam Research Institute of Land Administration, VIRILA.
