Ghana – A New Country On Our Map

On behalf of the Ministry for Local Government and Rural Development Swedesurvey has prepared a project proposal for an Urban Management Land Information System in Ghana.
The work has been carried out in close co-operation with the Ministry, the Assemblies in Accra, Tema and Kumasi and Swedesurveys partner in Ghana, Geo-Tech. The work was concluded in a workshop with participants from all major stakeholders.

Follow-up Seminar in Arusha, Tanzania

The launching of the Regional Follow-up Seminar for previous participants in "Strategic Planning and Management of Land Administration and Geographical Information Organisations" held in
Arusha, Tanzania.

The official opening was made by Torvald Åkesson, the Swedish Ambassador to Tanzania and the Regional Administrative Secretary Joshua Kileo.
Participating countries are Ghana, Kenya, Namibia, South Africa, Swaziland, Tanzania, Uganda and Zambia.

Study visit from the Kyrgyz Republic

The Director of Gosregister of the Kyrgyz Republic, Mr. Keneshbek Kasymovich Karachalov, and his Management Team are visiting Swedesurvey and Lantmäteriet this week. The overall purpose of the visit is to show the responsibilities, organisation and work of Lantmäteriet and to show management- and financial procedure. Previous week the group visited the State Enterprise Centre of Registers in Vilnius for the same purpose.

This week we are pleased to host a delegation from Mongolia. Representatives from the Mongolian Administration of Land Affairs Geodesy and Cartography (ALAGaC) and Ulaanbaatar City Land Administration are studying land administration issues.
