Swedesurvey’s first long term contract in South America


On 16th March 2005 the Mayor of Cuscos Alcalde in Peru, Mr Carlos Valencia Miranda, and the Managing Director of Swedesurvey, Mr Sture Pettersson, signed a contract for a three-year project “The Modernisation of an Integrated Real Property Register to Strengthen the Municipal Administration in Cusco Province. The ceremony, which took place in Cusco Town Hall, was also attended by Architect, Ms Karmen Castañeda, the Head of Cusco Cadastre Department and Project Leader, Mr Darwin Wiesse, members of the municipal council and Mr José Albornoz of Swedesurvey, the Swedish Project Leader.

New project in Georgia
The National Agency of Public Registry of Ministry of Justice of Georgia (NAPR) has entered an agreement with Swedesurvey for a 3 year project “Management and Training Support Project for Registration and Cadastre in Georgia”. On the picture from the signing ceremony are seated to the right the Chairman of NAPR Mr David Egliashvili, the Technical Director Mr Tommy Österberg of Swedesurvey and standing is the Deputy Chairman of NAPR Ms Tea Dabrundashvili.

Capacity Building Course in Ghana

Swedesurvey is currently running a team-building and management course in Ghana in cooperation with the Ministry of Lands, Forestry and Mines (MLF). The aim of the course is to strengthen the capabilities for MLF to implement the multi-donor funded Land Administration Project (LAP) in Ghana and to provide the Ministry’s project management team, the Land Administration Project Unit (LAPU), with the technical expertise to lead the process and further train other stakeholders to a successful implementation of the project. In doing this, Swedesurvey is supported by Project Coordinator Sulemana Mahama and his staff at the LAPU and GEO-TECH Systems Ltd represented by their Director, Mr. Stephen Djaba.
