Swedesurvey and Hebei Bureau of Surveying and Mapping (HBSM) in China start cooperation for marketing and development of information services for urban, environment and land management.
Swedesurvey and HBSM have cooperated in the development of cadastral and urban management information systems in China since 1988. The cooperation has been very successful and we have together decided to deepen and develop the cooperation further through a joint venture company, GeoInTech, which is located to Shijiazhuang in Hebei Province, China.
GeoInTech has won its first project, which is the establishment of a GPS real-time network reference system in Hebei province. The system will comprise about 30 references stations in the province and allow surveys for many purposes in real time with millimetre accuracy in the whole province. This will be the first province-wide GPS reference system in China.

During the last week of August Lantmäteriet, the National Land Survey of Sweden, and Swedesurvey hosted a study visit for five directors from the National Land Survey of Indonesia: Mr Yuswand Temenggung, Mr Wenny Rusmawara Idrus, Mr Irwan Sumarto, Mr Ibnu Wardono and Mr Heru Susante Wartiono. They showed great interest in the lectures and asked lots of questions.
In that the project “International Partnership for Strengthening Land Administration in Indonesia (IPSLA)” between Badan Pertanahan Nasional (BPN) and Lantmäteriet has only recently begun the experiences gained from their visit should provide a sound foundation for future cooperation.
The Swedish Team Leader is Mr Anders Åberg.

The Ministry of Land, Environment, Forestry, Water and Mines in Rwanda has chosen to cooperate with Swedesurvey for the design of the Land Use Master Plan and Physical Planning of Rwanda.
The project started on the 1st of September 2007 and will last for three years. The first activities will be aerial photography for production of a base map for planning of the whole country and of large scale maps of about 30 urban settlements. The planning process will involve all agencies and organisations with demand on land use. The different demands on land use will be collected and analysed from existing material, satellite imagery and inventories of sector organisations. Based on these demands on land use, a vision will be elaborated and agreed with all stakeholders and with participation from the general public. Priorities will be set based on criteria elaborated from the vision and a proposal for a strategic master land use plan elaborated and presented for review and final decisions. A National Centre for Land Management will be established within the Ministry for the continued physical master planning in the country.
The Swedesurvey Team Leader in Kigali is Dr. Nils Viking.
