Swedesurvey is the overseas agency of Lantmäteriet, the Swedish mapping, cadastral and land registration authority, and provides services in land governance, NSDI and human resource development throughout the world.

Denmark

Swedesurvey developed the system for data capture and conversion of land titles in a nationwide project Conversion of Danish Manual Land Register. Swedesurvey also had a contract with the client, the Ministry of Justice, for system maintenance when production was contracted out to a service bureau specialising in data recording.

Kent Nilsson

Kent is currently managing our UMLIS project in Accra, Ghana. Furthermore Kent has been working as Project Manager for our projects in Skopje and Kiev as well as a short term consultant in Belgrade for Lantmäteriet, developing a Mortgage System. The IT-background and strong driving force together with his social capabilities makes Kent a valuable asset for our clients.

As a result of Swedesurvey’s institutional development project with the Hebei Bureau of Surveying and Mapping (HBSM), a multi-purpose mapping system was established in Hebei Province in China. In another programme of cooperation with HBSM, where the services provided by Swedesurvey focused on transfer of knowledge and providing training, an urban management information system, which included a large geographical database, was designed, constructed and implemented in the cities of Baoding, Handan and Qinhuangdao.

Jamaica

In 2010 Swedesurvey put forward a business plan for the gFIX.net for the National Land Agency in Jamaica. Swedesurvey made investigations in collaboration with the client in order to collect as much information as possible about local conditions and a workshop was held with possible future users and different subscription models were discussed. Swedesurvey also studied the capacity of the gFIX.net and estimated the operational costs.

Security for Informal Settlements

The Services, Development of Guidelines for Land Tenure Security for Informal Settlements, were initiated in November, 2003 and completed in August, 2004.The main objective of the work is the development of guidelines for land tenure security for the City of Nairobi.
