Support to Belarus
In 1998 Swedesurvey started to cooperate with
a Non-Government Organization working to support privatization and land
reform in Belarus. At present we have a two-year contract financed by
Sida that will finish in 2004. The NGO is called Republican Association
Land Reform.
The support consists of seminars on land management
issues in Belarus and study visits to Sweden. Swedesurvey is also giving
support to real property taxation and mass appraisal. GosComZem is participating
as a member in the steering committee.
Recently Belarus merged the BTI organization
with the National Cadastre Agency. This was done at the same time as
a new law on registration of real rights in real property was adopted
by the Parliament.
