The Municipality of Cusco, Peru presented a project proposal for technical cooperation to Sida regarding the development of a geographic information system in 2003.

After an initital assessment of the proposal, Sida found it necessary to further develop the proposal in order to cover the complexiity of the problems especially concerning institutional aspects. In order to assist the Municipality of Cusco to develop the proposal, Sida decided to engage Swedesurvey AB for a short term mission to Peru.

Swedesurvey initiated and completed the consulting services during November 2003.
